Why not indulge yourself & take a helicopter ride over the awe-inspiring French Alps?
  • Helicopter Rides: Prices start from €45... For outstanding views of the Tarentaise Valley, why not book a unique helicopter tour experience with Evolution 2? A choice of four different helicopter itineraries will give you a new perspective of the world that you will never forget! Book The Mont Blanc Tour (40 mins), The Tarentaise Tour (15 mins), The Espace Killy Tour (10 mins) or The Tignes Tour (5 mins). You can even book a heli transfer to reach other ski resorts in a matter of minutes.
  • Ski Scooters & Yooner Sledges: Looking for something different? Try racing down the slopes of Sainte Foy on a yooner or scooter! A yooner is a modern version of the “paret” (Savoyard sled). Sitting about 20cm from the ground, a bit like a snow cart, it is equipped with a shock absorber for comfort and a shoe that allows you to carve turns whilst gliding down the runs - great fun and easy to learn! Scooters and yooners can be rented from all of the hire shops in Sainte Foy.
Activities in Sainte Foy Tarentaise
  • Snow Shoeing: Hire snow rackets (snowshoes) from the ski shops in Sainte Foy and set off on paths that wind through the forests to the listed village of Le Monal with spectacular views across to the glaciers on Mont Pourri. Visit the farming hamlets of Le Planay and the St Guerin chapel along the way. Guided snowshoe trips, where you can learn about the local flora and fauna, can also be arranged. This is a much loved and extremely popular activity.

  • Parapenting/Paragliding: Soar through the skies of the valley and land on the snow! You can even fly tandem from the top of the mountain! Evolution 2 offer paragliding every day in Tignes (weather dependent), with prices starting from €85pp. Please note that you must be on skis for both take off and landing.
  • Husky Riding: From €40pp... Try this unique experience and enjoy a fast paced half hour outing in Tignes, Val d'Isère or La Rosière, opting either to go as a driver or a passenger. Availability is very limited, so please make sure you book well in advance.
  • Ice Diving: Explore the underwater world of the lake at your own pace with a professional diver, diving down to a depth of 80cm. You will enter a fascinating world of beams of light, translucent colours and a surreal atmosphere. Available in Tignes Le Lac & Val d'Isère. No diving experience necessary and all equipment supplied. Daytime & night-time dives available from mid-December to early April.
Learn to drive on ice during your ski holiday.
  • Ice Climbing: From €93pp... Experience the thrill of climbing up a natural frozen waterfall in the safe hands of fully qualified instructors as they teach you the basics of using crampons and an ice axe. No need to be an expert climber, but for those that are looking for a challenge and the chance to ascend a normally inaccessible natural phenomenon this could be the experience for you! Available in Tignes or Val d'Isère, to those aged 14yrs+.
  • Snowmobiling: Hold on tight for a high speed adventure that will make the mundane drive to work seem like a far off dream! Learn to drive the skidoo yourself or enjoy being the passenger. 30 & 40 minute sessions available in Tignes during the day or evening.
Quad biking in the Alps
  • Ice Skating: Nothing captures the ambience of winter more than an exhilarating spin around the free outdoor ice rink in Tignes, with adult skate hire costing just €3. Open from December to February, depending on weather conditions.
  • Ice Driving: At the wheel of a Subaru or Porsche Boxster, learn how to control the car on ice with Evolution 2. Their fully qualified instructors will guide you through techniques such as: emergency braking, turning and drifting. Or choose to sit back and enjoy the adrenalin rush as one of their professional drivers takes the wheel. Available on the ice circuit at Tignes & Val d'Isère.
